NEWS **CBC & BONSOUND**
In the early Spring of this year, the CBC invited me to perform for a small audience in a local Montreal recording studio called Breakglass. The performance would be recorded using a plethora of top-notch equipment and a vintage-mixing console that was used to make albums for Led Zeppelin. To ensure for a great performance I compiled a new band that consisted of some of Montreal’s finest musicians as well as an 8-piece opera collective called Liederwolfe. We performed well and are very proud to present you with the entire live performance here
You can listen to the entire show or select individual songs as you wish. We played 7 new tunes from my upcoming release “Bouquet of Might and Fury” so you can get a ‘sneak listen’ to them in their raw and pre-sculpted stages. Since its posting last month, the CBC web producers chose the performance to coincide with the national launch and introduction of the new CBC Radio 2 format across Canada by putting it up as one of the featured banner concerts on the home page of ‘Concerts On Demand’. The show was also made available as a downloadable podcast on Radio 2’s home page and on October 6th, the performance, accompanied by a commentary, aired nationally on CBC Radio 2’s ‘Canada Live’ at 9pm. The performance will remain on the CBC website for one year for people like you to enjoy! So, please enjoy! And try to listen to the show with decent speakers as the CBC producer and engineers took special care to capture excellent sound quality so as to accommodate the mp3 format it is rendered in on the site. Interwoven throughout these dynamite times has emerged a new relationship with an independent Montreal based label that I am proud to announce will start booking shows for me in Quebec. They are called BONSOUND and are essentially a multi-faceted label that unites the tasks of managing, booking, publicity, and operating three record labels for such great artists as DJ Champion, Creature, Malajube, Torngat, and a plethora of other fine acts. They maintain a swell reputation that is crooned upon by artists and industry movers and shakers alike and I am excited to be working with them.
